HIGHLIGHT ONE OF OUR TRAVEL PROGRAM

Wine from the sea

We visit a special winery on the Basque Atlantic coast, which ages its wines in the Atlantic Ocean at a depth of 15 meters. We learn about this special process and try six different “wines from the sea”.
The tasting is accompanied by delicious pintxos, which perfectly complement the aromas of the wines...

HIGHLIGHT TWO OF OUR TRAVEL PROGRAM

Wine from historic vines

We visit the only vineyard in France that is registered as a “Monument Historique”, i.e. as a historical monument. The vines of this vineyard survived phylloxera plague in the 19th century and the autochthonous varieties today form the basis for extraordinary, rare wines.
We try wonderful wines made from these rare grapes — including wines that are not available for sale...

HIGHLIGHT THREE OF OUR TRAVEL PROGRAM

Tuscany of France

We experience the wine landscape of the Gers with its medieval villages and the delights made into wine from Madiran... We visit the cellar and vineyards of a small family winery that has been managing its vineyards responsibly for decades and today produces all wines organically.
We take part in a tasting of four different Madiran wines, which are perfectly accompanied by chocolate and chocolates from a small factory...

HIGHLIGHT FOUR OF OUR TRAVEL PROGRAM

The most beautiful market in the southwest

We visit the market in Bagnères de Bigorres and are inspired by the smells, flavors, colors and friendly, relaxed people of the region.
Accompanied by delicious wine, we enjoy fresh oysters or great tapas in the market hall before heading further into the mountains...

Culinary specialities, special regional wines and masterfully distilled Armagnac...

Culinary Occitania

The cuisine of Occitania and Gascony owes its uniqueness to local products such as foie gras, black-footed pork, gâteau à la broche, garbures, the famous corn chicken and, above all, an ancient tradition of cooking in duck or goose fat... as well as the regional wines and the legendary Armagnac.

We really enjoyed our stay. Roland and Ghomri are charming people who took great care of us. We enjoyed their touches such as the light path in the garden when we returned and the candles in the house. Our room was very comfortable and the beds were well maintained. We can only recommend it!

White metal garden table with two cups, saucers, and a small glass vase with a pink flower in the garden.

Magnifique, merveilleux, superb! ... Rarely have we felt as comfortable as in the two weeks with our hosts Ghomri and Roland... The quiet surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and recreation... The Châ itself is a dream come true — tastefully furnished, with great attention to detail and an atmosphere that immediately invites you to relax. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the large garden can be shared... Particularly noteworthy are the hosts, who made our stay unforgettable with their friendliness and helpfulness...

Cozy bedroom with an antique wooden bed, white curtains, wooden flooring, and warm light from several lamps.

It was the right place for us and we felt very comfortable. The hosts went out of their way for us and we left as friends. Day trips to Lourdes, Pau and Tarbes are highly recommended. I'd love to go back!

I had a really magical holiday in a caravan, in the middle of nature. It was so nice to wake up every morning to the soothing sound of birds — it made my stay really special. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive... simply wonderful. Your tips for trips and hikes were super helpful and have enriched my vacation so much. I can recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and is looking for a relaxing break. Would love to come back!!!

Travel sustainably, safely, and comfortably

70-90% CO2 savings
Only one change in Paris

Due to recent inquiries, we would like to clarify: there are no forest fires here. The current wildfires are in the Pyrénées-Orientales region on the Mediterranean coast. We are far from that area, located in the Hautes-Pyrénées/Gers region, which is a very water-rich area.

Many flight bookings are currently only confirmed provisionally. You can comfortably reach Château Lestéous and your wine and culinary journey by train. For example: Departure from London at 8:01 am, arrival in Tarbes at 7:26 pm. The Tarbes TGV station is only 30 minutes away. You will be picked up there. Compared to flying, you save 70 to 90% CO2. That's sustainable travel! Learn more
